Biography

Dr. James Manning Potts edited the Upper Room Pulpit (a publication of the Methodist Church) for several years. Potts attended several universities and earned multiple degrees, including a master of divinity and an honorary doctorate. He held memberships in many historical societies and church agencies. Potts taught at the high school level and college level. Potts wrote many articles and books while editing several other works. Potts had a passion for missions, the Methodist church, and an appreciation for the history of the church. Potts lived from 1895 to 1973. His legacy lives on through The Interpreter's House and The International Prayer Fellowship.
